Music If you can only read one thing about the music industry in the UK, it should be this! Don’t worry – you don’t have to memorise the information, but you should at least try and gain a firm understanding of the six sectors of the UK’s music industry. There’s a couple of pages on each sector This page has loads of useful information about different jobs in the UK music industry. As the US and UK industries work a little different, it’s great that this site is UK specific. if you have time, this page links to the job opportunities webpages of many different music firms within the UK. Not all of them are currently advertising for jobs, but it’s worth bookmarking this link for when they are! The three links below will help you succeed in the ‘Planning a Career in the Music Industry’ unit we will be completing for your induction programme. In this unit there are two tasks:
  • Task 1 is all about you and is very inward looking. It requires no external research, but a lot of self-analysis and honesty.
  • Task 2 is all about careers in the music industry, so does require a lot of research about the UK’s music industry and the multitude of careers within it.
These three links will therefore help you immensely with Task 2!
