Shireland Collegiate Academy hosts Pros from the Shows dance workshop

Shireland Collegiate Academy in Smethwick was delighted to welcome Layton Williams and Strictly Come Dancing star Nikita Kuzmin as part of the Pros from the Shows tour in Birmingham.

The pair led a public dance workshop in the Academy’s sports hall, offering participants of all ages and abilities the chance to learn directly from professional performers. The session also showcased how the Academy’s facilities can support high-quality creative and physical activities.

Pros from the Shows was created by Layton Williams, who has performed extensively in the West End and on television, to inspire the next generation of performers. He and his team of professionals deliver bespoke masterclasses worldwide, collaborating with industry experts and organisations including Pineapple Dance Studios, the National Youth Theatre and The Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts. Nikita Kuzmin, known for his work on Strictly Come Dancing, joined Williams to co-lead the workshop at Shireland.

School Principal, Thomas Daly, said: “It was wonderful to welcome such talented professionals to Shireland and see our sports hall come alive with energy and creativity. Workshops like this don’t just inspire our students, they give the wider community a chance to come together, learn something new and share in the joy of performing arts.”

The workshop marked one of the latest stops on Pros from the Shows’ UK tour, which continues to offer public sessions designed to encourage creativity, confidence and a love of the arts.
