Shireland Collegiate Academy Bids Farewell to Principal Dave Irish

Shireland Collegiate Academy, a beacon of educational excellence, today announces the departure of Mr Dave Irish, who has dedicated an inspiring 14 years to the Academy, five of those as Principal. Mr Irish, a cornerstone of the Academy’s success, will be embarking on an exciting new journey in Dubai, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be etched in the hearts of the Shireland community. 

Under Mr Irish’s visionary leadership, Shireland Collegiate Academy has flourished into an institution renowned for its commitment to nurturing young minds and fostering a culture of excellence. His unwavering dedication to the students, staff, and the local community has left an indelible mark on the Academy. 

Reflecting on his incredible journey at Shireland, Mr Irish expressed heartfelt gratitude: “It has been an absolute privilege to serve Shireland Collegiate Academy for the past 14 years. I am immensely proud of the accomplishments we have achieved together as a community. I leave with a heavy heart but with boundless optimism for the future. 

As Mr Irish transitions into this new chapter of his career, he will remain with the Trust until Christmas, ensuring a seamless transition for the Academy. Shireland Collegiate Academy will officially welcome its new Principal, Miss Moira Green, after half-term. 

Moira Green, who has been appointed following a rigorous recruitment process, brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in leading schools to the role. She is poised to continue the legacy of excellence established by Mr Irish. 

Upon her appointment, Miss Green shared her excitement for the opportunity: “I am honoured to be entrusted with the role of Principal at Shireland Collegiate Academy. Mr Irish’s legacy is a testament to the dedication and commitment of the entire community. I am eager to build upon the strong foundation laid by my predecessor and work collaboratively to ensure the continued success of this remarkable institution. 

Sir Mark Grundy, CEO of Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust, also commented on this significant transition: “Dave Irish’s contributions to Shireland Collegiate Academy and the wider community have been truly exceptional. We are immensely grateful for his leadership and unwavering commitment over the years. As we welcome Moira Green, we have full confidence in her ability to lead the Academy to even greater heights. 

The departure of Mr Dave Irish and the arrival of Miss Moira Green mark a momentous chapter in Shireland Collegiate Academy’s history. The Academy and the community express their deepest appreciation for Mr Irish’s remarkable service and extend a warm welcome to Miss Green as she takes on her new role.
