Shireland Collegiate Academy Sixth Form welcomed more than 70 former students back to the Academy for its first alumni event. The evening celebrated the achievements of graduates and highlighted the lasting connections that continue beyond their time in sixth form.
The event brought together alumni at different stages of their journey since leaving sixth form. Attendees included recent leavers who completed their studies last year, as well as former students who returned to reconnect with the Academy and celebrate the achievements of the wider alumni community.
The evening gave graduates the opportunity to catch up with familiar faces and reflect on the experiences that have shaped their journey after sixth form. Alumni shared their progression into university, apprenticeships, employment and other pathways with fellow alumni and staff, offering valuable insight into life beyond post-16 education.
Head of Sixth Form, Ben Brogan, said: “Our alumni are an important part of our Sixth Form’s story. The relationships we build with students continue long after they leave us, and staying connected allows us to celebrate their achievements, learn from their experiences and create opportunities for current students to see what they can achieve.
“It was incredibly rewarding to welcome so many former students back to the Academy and see the pride they still have in being part of the Shireland community.”
The event marked an important milestone in developing the Academy’s alumni network and creating more opportunities for former students to remain connected with the sixth form.
By continuing to engage with former students, Shireland Sixth Form aims to build a strong alumni community where graduates can share their experiences, inspire current students and support future generations. Following the success of its first alumni event, the sixth form hopes to host further opportunities for graduates to return, reconnect and celebrate their achievements.
